Jackson’s REAL Food Market – a sneak peek!

BoozyFoodie – she said:

The hashtag reads #RealHonestFood – and that is exactly what you will find at the brand new Jackson’s Real Food Market. Wholesome goodness.  I haven’t been to the ‘old’ Jacksons, so I didn’t know what the previous set-up was.  But to be honest, it really doesn’t matter!

This is really a haven for everyone looking for good quality, farm fresh and healthy food. I was lucky enough to be invited, together with some media and blogger peeps, to get a closer look at the new Jackson’s.

Entering through the main entrance, you are greeted by a wide variety of the vegetables, fruit, every possible variety of sprouts, fresh eggs, honey products, etc. And let me stop you right here as well – you will have to turn back to get a shopping trolley if you haven’t done so already. Moving on to the best free range meat products, fresh seafood (including huge Luderitz oysters – yes, all the way from Namibia), and a very impressive collection of cheese.

Gary Jackson, the enthusiastic visionary behind Jackson’s proudly shows off some of the products personally sourced from quality local producers and entrepreneurs – original, and quality products you won’t find in other store.

And the best part – it is an educational experience as well.  I felt ‘safe’ enough to try Kombucha and Matcha for the first time (yes, I know – a late bloomer!!).

It is actually very difficult for me not to spill ALL the beans, but I’d much rather want you experience this fabulous shopping journey yourself – because it really is an experience, not just another ‘grocery’ store.  For the next week or so there is a fantastic line-up of events as part of the launching phase – as well as in-store tastings of most of the products on offer.

It isn’t just for ‘health nuts’ (not that there is anything wrong with that ;)) – this gorgeous store will appeal to anyone looking for quality and fresh food items – and the most delicious pastries, the most perfect croissants and macaroons from Patachou, making this the perfect place the relax, have a light meal – soaking up stunning views of Johannesburg.
